Steven Lepley, MA, LPC-MHSP
Clinical Director, Freeman Recovery Online
Called to Serve
Steven Lepley's Leadership in Clinical Care and Recovery
Steven Lepley is the Clinical Director at Freeman Recovery Online. Licensed by the State of Tennessee as a Professional Counselor with the Mental Health Service Provider designation, he holds a Master's in Professional Counseling and brings 20 years of experience in substance abuse treatment. He has worked across a range of treatment settings in roles including counselor, continuing care planner, group facilitator, clinic manager, and clinical director.
His path into the field was not a direct one. Steven spent the first years of his career in professional theatre, where he enjoyed a robust and creative working life. After getting sober in 2003, he began searching for deeper meaning, and in 2006 he left the theatre behind for the world of substance abuse treatment.
Steven served as clinical director consultant for two years before stepping into the position full time this year. He also maintains a private practice in Nashville, where he sees clients both in person and by telehealth. His passion for the struggling addict is evident in his dedication to serving in whatever capacity he is called to.
Clinical Focus
Steven specializes in early addiction recovery support, grief and trauma counseling, and PTSD of all kinds, including combat trauma. He is EMDR trained and also works with chronic pain patients, using a specific EMDR protocol to help reduce or eliminate pain. His experience delivering care by telehealth informs how Freeman Recovery Online structures its virtual programming.
